Ferraro’s Ristorante invites guests to experience its next Taste & Learn on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 5 p.m. Taste & Learn is Ferraro’s popular, monthly wine-tasting event that provides illuminating wine education along with a menu of imaginative, authentic Italian small plates created by Ferraro’s Executive Chef Mimmo Ferraro.
The October Taste & Learn event spotlights wines from Planeta. For five centuries and through 17 generations, Planeta has continued to cultivate Sicily’s finest wines. Today, the winery includes five notable estates across various areas of the island, producing a variety of tempting red and white selections.
Taste & Learn attendees will begin the tasting with the Cometa Fiano Sicilia Menfi DOC, a succulent white wine offering intense and fruity aromas. Second on the menu is the Frappato Vittoria DOC, a rare red wine offering the perfect synthesis between traditional and new winemaking trends. Next is the Etna Rosso DOC Nerello Mascalese, an intense and elegant red wine produced from grapes grown in the black soil of lava flows. Lastly, guests will conclude the tasting with Santa Cecilia Nero d’Avola Noto DOC, a top-of-the-line wine made from indigenous red Sicilian grapes.
“Guests can look forward to a remarkable tasting journey through Sicily from west to east,” said Mimmo Ferraro, executive chef, Ferraro’s. “The island’s climate distinguishes itself from other Italian winemaking regions, making for truly unique and distinguished wines.”
