Ferraro’s Ristorante invites guests to experience its next Taste & Learn on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 5 p.m. Taste & Learn is Ferraro’s popular, monthly wine-tasting event that provides illuminating wine education along with a menu of imaginative, authentic Italian small plates created by Ferraro’s Executive Chef Mimmo Ferraro.
The September Taste & Learn event spotlights wines from Jermann and Renato Ratti. With winemaking traditions dating back to the 18th century, Jermann is renowned across the globe for its quality, innovation and distinctive selection of white wines. For more than 50 years, the Renato Ratti estate has produced the classical wines of Italy’s Langhe district with boundless passion. The vineyard is also well known for Barolo, one of Northern Italy’s most prominent wines.
Taste & Learn attendees will begin the tasting with the Jermann Pinot Grigio, a dry, velvety and fragrant white wine pairing perfectly with fresh seafood. Second on the menu is the Renato Ratti Barbera d’Asti, an intense red wine with notes of ripe fruit and subtle hints of spices. Next is the Renato Ratti Ochetti Nebbiolo, a ruby red wine offering hits of strawberries and raspberries. Lastly, guests will conclude the tasting with the Renato Ratti Marcenasco Barolo red wine offering a harmony of licorice and tobacco notes pairing well with veal and ripe cheese.
“We cannot wait for our guests to savor these four delectable Italian plates and wines, especially the Barolo,” said Mimmo Ferraro, executive chef, Ferraro’s. “Barolo is a classic example of synergizing the perfect grape variety with the best growing conditions. It will truly be an unforgettable culinary experience.”
