Ferraro’s Ristorante invites guests to experience its next Taste & Learn on Saturday, May 18, at 5 p.m. Taste & Learn is Ferraro’s popular, monthly wine-tasting event that provides illuminating wine education along with a menu of imaginative, authentic Italian small plates created by Ferraro’s Executive Chef Mimmo Ferraro.
The May Taste & Learn event spotlights wines from Ceretto. Since the 1930s, the Ceretto family has produced wine in the Piedmont countryside of Italy. Spread across multiple vineyard sites in the Langhe and Roero districts, the Ceretto estate boasts a multitude of grape varieties. Each vineyard is meticulously tended to by skilled viticulturists who work in harmony with nature to nurture the vines and produce grapes of exceptional quality.
Taste & Learn attendees will begin the tasting with the Arneis Blange, an excellent expression of the native Arneis grape featuring intense fruity notes and a hint of minerality in this white blend. Second on the menu is the Dolcetto d’Alba Rossana, a ruby red wine packed with flowery and fruity sensations highlighted by a slightly dry taste and almond notes. Next is the Barbaresco, a well-balanced red offering the ripeness of black cherry and dark currants. Lastly, guests will end the tasting with the Barolo, a silky red ideally paired with rich beef dishes.
“Straight from the renowned vineyards of Italy’s Piedmont region—home to the Nebbiolo grape and the best wines in the world—attendees can prepare to embark on a sensory journey like none other and be treated to an exclusive tasting featuring Ceretto’s finest wines,” said Mimmo Ferraro, executive chef, Ferraro’s. “From the iconic Barolos and Barbarescos to a crisp and elegant white and more, guests will discover the rich tapestry of Northern Italy’s winemaking heritage.”
